Coach House

This 500-square-metre walled garden has been remodelled and planted over the last seven years by its owner, garden designer Jane Jordan, after she and her husband Peter renovated their 1850s coach house conversion.

Abutting the conservatory is a sunken terrace with dining table, edged in borders, pots of succulents and a raised pond. Down each side of the east-facing plot run borders filled with perennials, especially light, airy plants that can been seen through. At the rear, one corner is taken with a bespoke greenhouse whilst a shed and cold frame occupies the opposite one: in between is a small lawn. Unusually, the centre of the garden is filled with an E-shaped raised bed, initially designed for a kitchen garden, but now filled with herbs and alpines.
