Iben Lund Gladman

Founder & Director

 
Iben qualified as a Landscape Architect in Copenhagen (Cand Hort Arch). Iben and Trevor co-founded GAP Photos in 2005.
 
Ensuring both contributors and clients of GAP Photos receive the highest quality service and fair rates is of paramount importance to Iben. She knows GAP’s specialist collection like no-one else; personally editing all of our photographer's submissions, she is hands-on with all of the in-house shoot production planning.
 
Iben enjoys spending time in her own garden and going for long walks in the Essex countryside with her husband David and their dog Buddy.
 
Random Fact: "My two children were born on the same day, 3 years apart - same room, same hospital, same midwife, same husband!"
Trevor Jennis McDermott

Trevor's passion for plants and gardening started a very young age, he left school to study amenity horticulture at Writtle College. Trevor met Iben when they both worked at another specialist picture library, leaving there to co-found GAP Photos in 2005.
 
As well as the daily management at GAP Photos, Trevor develops and maintains the bespoke website created for GAP clients, photographers and staff.  
 
In his spare time, Trevor enjoys gardening. He has a passion for flying and now has a private pilot license, sharing the use of an an aircraft with 5 other pilots. 
 
Random Fact: "I circumnavigated the UK coastline with 2 other pilots, in a vintage Cessna - just for the hell of it."
Matt Jennis McDermott

Library Assistant & Sales

 
Matt has a wealth of experience in customer service and prides himself on problem solving. He enjoys matching stock images and features with our client's brands and needs. 
 
Matt creates and distributes our marketing mailers; selecting features for customers, and doing lots of picture research.
 
In his spare time Matt enjoys travelling, cooking, pottery and watching his team, Chelsea, play. 
 
Random Fact: "I have done 2 parachute jumps and also a skydive over the Namib desert, white water rafting on the Zambezi river and most frightening of all, I took part in a charity fashion show hosted by Dermot O'Leary."
Ben Heather

Photographer & Submissions Manager

 
Ben has a keen eye for detail - he is responsible for photographing the GAP Gardens practical gardening feature productions as well as processing our photographers' submissions; handling quality control, uploads and resolving any technical issues.  
 
Ben's background is in natural history, studying 'Rural Resource Management' at university before working for 10 years at the Suffolk Biodiversity Information Service.
 
A keen photographer, Ben was thrilled to turn his hobby into a profession. He still finds time to do macro and wildlife photography, frequently entering competitions at his local photographic society. In 2018 he gained a credit award of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain.
 
Random Fact: "I used to play lead guitar in a rock band"
Rachel Cousins
 
Rachel Cousins
Stylist, Model & Gardener

 
If you know our collection, you have probably seen Rachel before. She is a gifted gardener and stylist and is photographed maintaining all our garden locations and creating our decorative features. Rachel particularly enjoys digging and is a lot stronger than she looks! 
 
Rachel initially used her horticultural knowledge to maintain our plant-labelling database before moving outside. She really enjoys helping to bring shoot ideas to life and trying out and learning new and different techniques. 
 
In her spare time Rachel dabbles in wildlife photography. She is a keen and knowledgeable bird watcher and loves walking.
 
Random Fact: "I'm trained in the ancient Chinese art of Mah Jongg."
Kat Bradburn

Writer & Model

 
Kat is the newest member to the GAP team. Working in our studio gardens, she appears in many of our step-by-step productions.
 
Trained as a florist and in Practical Horticulture, Kat is ideally suited to knowing the correct horticultural techniques and getting stuck-in to our more decorative shoots
 
Before joining GAP, Kat had been working with RHS The Garden magazine, honing her editorial skills on some of the magazines regular features.
 
Random Fact: "My interest in gardening began with succulents - They are my favourite type of plant and I have a huge collection!"
David Gladman
 
David Gladman
Accounts & Bookkeeping

 
David handles all the payments, in and out of the company and his workload has certainly increased over the years!
 
After studying Physics and enjoying sport at Loughborough University, he moved to Denmark at the age of 20 to be with Iben and lived there for 7 years, whilst working as a International fashion model.
 
David speaks fluent Danish. On returning to England he worked in his family business of music retail and later ran a technology sales team and did stock forecasting for the UK division.
 
He has a love of music, gardening, architecture, food and real ale and loves walking his dog, Buddy-the-Pugle.
 
Random Fact: "I play the drums"
Olivia Slater
 
Olivia Slater
Picture Library Administrator

 
Olivia is a highly organised member of the GAP Photos team.  She started working for GAP soon after she finished her A-Levels.  
 
She is so organised that we have (lovingly) dubbed her; "The Queen of Spreadsheets."  Joining GAP Photos in 2017, Olivia now deals with all aspects of the library administration from any initial inquiries to providing quotes for image and feature use.
 
Olivia manages our social media accounts. She has also been known to step in and help our team of keyworders when we've had lots of new submissions.  
 
She really enjoys communicating with our clients, worldwide and seeing where, and how GAPs collection of images are used.
 
Random Fact: "I cannot stand to see drawers left open."
Kirsty McNeil
 
Kirsty McNeil
Freelance Writer & Keyworder

 
Kirsty has freelanced for GAP on and off for many years now. Her previous experience as a feature writer and picture editor for magazines and newspapers, means she keywords GAP images from a picture researchers perspective, knowing which words will help our clients to find the exact picture they need. 
 
She also writes the text for some of our beautiful garden features.
 
Random Fact: "Since I started working with GAP I have definitely killed less plants"
Buddy
 
Buddy
Apprentice Screen Time Break Officer

 
New on the team here at GAP Photos is Buddy, he is a heady combination of Pug and Beagle meaning that food is his life!
 
He is so cute that he is proving to be a very successful screen time break officer - regularly demanding attention from the team - simply by being in the room.
 
He ensures we take regular breaks from screen work to remove his snout from bags, drawers, or anywhere food may be kept.
 
Random Fact: "I love carrots."
