Synopsis
Diane and David make the most of plants that thrive in their wet climate and acid soil, welcoming mosses and liverworts and making features of these beautiful plants that other gardeners may treat as pests. The couple have created the garden over 34 years on four hillside acres with 6ft of rain per annum. The site is rocky and sloping including woodland with rhododendrons, camellias, magnolias, hydrangeas, bluebells and foxgloves, an extensive moss and Japanese influenced gardens, ponds, meadows, stewartias, gunneras large and small, alpine and Best gardens. And much more such as a Plant Heritage collection of Aruncus, rare Hebridean sheep, exotic waterfowl and pheasants. Regularly open for the National Gardens Scheme.
