Synopsis
He was commissioned to reshape what was a boggy lawned garden in Wimbledon with just a few borders and surrounding trees, into a contemporary space that was low maintenance with a shaded area for outdoor dining, and a relaxed seating area close to the house. He dug deep into the space and laid a comprehensive drainage system to prevent further water logging and used a pale porcelain paving to create paths to intersect a ground cover of black river washed pebbles. He interspersed the ground with small beds of individually condensed planting of ferns, grasses and heuchera and built three seating areas with teak decking around raised concrete beds, the bed closest to the house became a herb garden which he filled with aromatic sage and thyme and soft rustling grasses.
