Synopsis
The owner, garden designer Kristina Clode, took on a big challenge when she and her family moved to this East Sussex cottage; the sloping garden was overgrown and covered with brambles. But it offered a large blank canvas where she could draw on her design knowledge to create a wildlife friendly garden and grow the plants she dreamt of growing. The garden has been transformed into various outdoor rooms with different atmospheres, including a pond, a fire circle, a circular border as well as more traditional borders where interest is provided late in the season thanks to the planting of Symphyotrichum ‘Little Carlow’ , Persicaria amplexicaulis “Firedance’ and shrubs with beautiful autumn hues such as Cercidiphyllum japonicum.
