Synopsis
This London garden designed by Karen Rogers, was for a family in Chiswick who had just finished extensive refurbishment work on their riverside house. The front garden was at street level and the rear garden was both at basement and a stepped up level towards the back. Originally there was no patio in the rear garden and it just had a few outbuildings and some grass and was very overgrown. The architect had designed the basement kitchen with French doors at the rear of the house leading out to the back garden and Karenís brief was to design a garden that lead from the kitchen French doors, that was family and teenager friendly with a patio for seating and dining with a fireplace, and which provided access to the rear of the garden at the higher level. A garden building was to be integrated into the garden design and compliment the materials used.
