Synopsis
A ten-acre garden within a larger park, which was originally created as an Italian-style garden in 1833. It gradually fell into decline, and work began on its restoration ten years ago. Two leading garden designers, Piet Oudolf and Tom Stuart-Smith were commissioned to redesign the planting, which was finished in 2005. The garden consists of great borders of perennials and grasses interspersed with water features, designed to give year-round interest.
