Synopsis
When the sun dips below the horizon, a hot air balloon floats silently above Maggie's Border, a living tapestry of flower and foliage in ebbing textures and tints. 'My colour palette has become more restrained as I've come to know the plants,' explains Maggie McGrath of the border that has been years in the making. In a recent redesign, she painted a watercolour plan to show the balance between different plants. 'You need both large and small drifts to create an unbroken flow,' she adds.
