The World Garden - Lullingstone Castle

The story of the World Garden at Lullingstone Castle in Kent is an extraordinary one. The idea for this garden came about when Tom Hart Dyke was taken hostage in the hills of Columbia and held for 9 months in the year 2000.

Synopsis
During his capture he began a diary to create a garden that would contain plants from around the globe, planted into areas representing their continent of origin. Tom, who's family, the Hart Dykes have lived at Lullingstone Castle for many generations truly is a modern day plant hunter. The gardens are open to the public and are an absolute delight to visit.
