Synopsis
2 acre garden on the North Cornish coast exposed to salt spray and westerly winds but blessed with high light levels and the creative eye of its gardener Duncan Scott who cites Sandra and Nori Pope's colour themed garden at Hadspen House in Somerset, Beth Chatto and Piet Oudolf as influences. Full of gorgeous planting combinations and clever touches the garden balances lush herbaceous perennials amongst structure created by clipped box, trained hornbeams and clipped holm oaks, Quercus ilex. There are lots of grasses too including sparkling golden oat grass, Stipa gigantea, Stipa arundinacea and Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster' plus self seeders including wild carrot, Daucus carota, and pink Linaria 'Canon Went' that weave themselves in and out. A beautifully balanced garden
