Synopsis
Come spring, and this delightful cottage garden of quarter-of-an-acre erupts with cherry blossom and some 5000 bulbs that its owner, Robert Turner, painstakingly plants each autumn, along paths, filling beds, borders and containers. Once over, they are dug up, and many are replanted in the kitchen garden, to provide cut flowers the following spring, and he replants for autumn colour. Each autumn, he scours bulb catalogues, choosing a blend of old favourites and new introductions, colour theming to create a fabulous display of early, middle and late flowering bulbs that stretches for more than a month. It is a singularly single-minded approach that results in this fabulous display.
