Synopsis
The planting under the Amelanchier tree is frothy and contrasts with the strong verticals of the timber balustrade. It also offers plenty of cut flowers for the house : Thalictrum rochebrunianum, Libertia formosa, Penstemon 'Raven'and Gladiolus murielae. Low Carpinus hedge creates hidden part of the garden. Helene de Witte used Iroko timbers for the balustrade and the deck, Chestnut timbers for a fence and Belgian tumbled clay pavers. Different pattern of materials works beautiful together and give unusual finish.
