Synopsis
The garden had been derelict for nearly fifty years when Sir Charles and Lady Legard undertook the huge renovation task. Topiary, grasses and perennials now feature widely in the ten distinct areas of the garden, providing structural emphasis and contrasts, and year-round interest. At the heart of the garden lies the beautiful old Victorian Conservatory, recently restored with Heritage Lottery Funding. The garden, now celebrating its twentieth year, has finally reached maturity, with the clipped Serpentine Yew hedges now grown to their full height, as envisaged in Oudolf’s original plans.
