Synopsis
An inspiring 11/4 acre garden that shows how wonderful floral displays can be achieved in August as well as June. Situated on the north side of the Isle of Wight, this traditional brick built cottage has views to the north across a croquet lawn toward Newtown Creek and the Solent. A path through a wildflower meadow leads to a woodland walk and wildlife pond. On the south side of the cottage is a part walled garden leading to a sunken area lushly planted with late summer flowers including dahlias, eucomis, kniphofias and Verbena bonariensis. An ornamental pool and pavilion provides an exotic touch. The garden opens under the National Gardens Scheme.
