Synopsis
The seed garlic cloves were purchased online and delivered in paper packaging. This is an autumn task: Three cloves were planted per 6 inch pot – the cloves are surprisingly large (clue in the name I guess) so no more than 3. Having watered the pots they were then labelled and left outside. After about 4 weeks tiny shoots appeared above the compost (not photographed). After 10/12 week the shoots had grown to about 4 inches. At this point the 6 inch pot was removed and the garlic with an impressive root system was potted on into a 10 inch pot. These will mature and produce in the late summer/early autumn of the following year.
