Synopsis
Dr Katie Cooper is passionate about plants and the feelings of wellbeing that come when people immerse themselves in the natural world. Dr Katie Cooper is a Doctor of Psychology and author of Plant Therapy in which she explores our relationship with plants. It was a pivotal moment in Katie’s career, marking a change in direction from focusing solely on talking therapies to launching an online plant subscription service, Bloombox Club, which provides a curated collection of plants and, with its philosophy ‘Nurture through Nature’, is very much in tune with the times. ‘Encouraging people to transform their homes and offices into green oases helps to bridge the mismatch between leading a healthy, balanced life and the sterile environment that so many occupy today.’ Katie grows about 200 house plants at home which are chosen to lift her mood and ease away stress. ‘They are not just stuff to collect, but an essential element of creating a sanctuary at home where I can truly relax.’
