Synopsis
Beautiful 4000 sqm garden designed and developed by owners, Jan and Elly Giesen since 1999 with advice from garden designers, Mariette van Hees and  Marcel Bellert. The owner Elly Giesen always had a garden when she was young, but then her garden was 'not bigger than a stamp'. Elly is passionate about plants, She visited England with a girlfriend for the first time 30 years ago and has been impressed with English gardens ever since.

When Elly and her husband Jan bought the 1950s dutch farmhouse 12 years ago they decided to create a relaxing, formal garden with views to the surrounding tulip fields. They started by planting yew and buxus hedges to create different garden rooms. They spent a lot of time collecting plants and combined them in the borders.  As main borders they created a yellow, a white and red and a purple border.  The garden has a contemporary terrace and furniture.

Bulbs for spring were planted in the same colour schemes as the summer borders with white tulip 'Triumphator' in the white border , tulip ' Queen of Night' in the purple border and Fritillaria raddeana in the yellow border. Beautiful iron archways are covered with climbing roses in summer and are an interesting architectural feature in winter. There is a sunken garden with seating and four standard  Platanus acerifolia creating a nice and shady place during summer. The garden is well maintained by owners, especially Jan who loves working in the garden since he retired.
