Synopsis
The estate was purchased in a poor condition in 1922 and after being restored to its current glory, opened to the public in 1948. In the summer, the walled gardens display their imposing structure and colour with extensive double borders estimated to measure 8m wide. Late summer reflects mellow tints and most notable planting includes Helianthus salicifolius, Coreopsis verticillata Grandiflora, Eupatorium maculatum, Sedum, Achillea, Phlox and Rosa.
