Synopsis
In the gently rolling English countryside of Norfolk, sandwiched between woodland and watermeadow, Jane-Ann Walton has established a garden which welcomes the winter season with open arms. Created on the site of buried farm buildings, with a mix of soil types, the garden is a series of areas ranging from containers and courtyards to sheltered borders which flow out to the edges of a partial moat, and blend seamlessly with the countryside beyond. The owner of the garden is a bit of a galanthophile and is incredibly knowledgeable about her snowdrop collection, growing on seedlings and cross-bred cultivars. She is also grows and uses coloured willow around the garden for ornamental supports and woven balls and birds, complementing the lively guinea fowl who strut freely around the plot.
