Synopsis
Towering palms, bamboos, tetrapanax and bananas loom overhead while in between a host of plants are artfully arranged below including many we know as houseplants such as the Swiss cheese plant, spider plants, foliage begonias and tradescantias. Simon has built himself a large greenhouse for overwintering his tender shrubs including brugmansias or Angel’s Trumpets, bananas, gingers and dahlias. Star of the show is a weather-worn tree trunk festooned with bromeliads, making these epiphytic plants look right at home.
