Synopsis
The characteristics of a Mediterranean garden are the natural shapes; in a garden like this there is no place for symmetry. The existing small step from the house into the garden leads you over two curved  paths into the garden. In this relatively small garden there are four terraces, one for dining, one for relaxing, a place in the sun and a place in the shade. This is a garden to discover. Two paths allow you access to the beautifully planted beds. In those beds you will find plants that fit within the Mediterranean atmosphere, in colours of purple like Agastache, Lavender and Eryngium or the ground covering Thyme. Shrubs like Oleander and climbing plants like Campsis and the Trachelospermum jasminoides, an evergreen with a wonderful fragrant completes the southern atmosphere.  For the oval terrace we’ve used gravel in a light sunny colour, a great contrast with the re-used pavement. All the colours used in this garden are based on earth tones; the colour of sand and rocks, bleu from the sky, and of course,  terracotta.
