Synopsis
If you don’t have the room to grow them yourselves they can be sourced from a local flower farm. Once the flowers have been cut make sure you give them a good drink overnight to keep the decorations fresh for longer. You can mix up the colours and varieties or stick to a single variety and colour theme. You will need string to hang them from and flexible wire and wirecutters. Flowers like larkspur have a thick hollow stems they lend themselves to being wired directly through this stem. Push the wire directly through the stem or make a incision to make the hole. Wrap the wire around the stem and make a hook to attach to the string. Trim off any spare wire. Cornflowers and other thin stemmed flowers are better wired tightly around the stems either singly or in a group. Make sure the wire is wrapped tightly enough to hold the flowers. Again make a hook and hang on to the string.
