Synopsis
Winding paths lead through this colourful garden, owned by acclaimed gardener Neil Lucas. A dragon sculpture sits in the centre of a raised circular pond in the Dragon Garden, surrounded by feathery grasses like Pennisetum "fairy Tails' and flowering perennials such as Helianthus 'Lemon Queen', the purple flowering Verbena bonariensis and pink Persicaria. A lawned pathway known as the 'Long Walk' is surrounded by borders of ornamental grasses and mixed perennials and leads from the Summer Garden to the Decennium Border. The Sunny Meadow is home to a Bee Hotel, constructed by Dorset Wildlife Trust volunteers and a large fallen Eucalyptus tree in the Water Garden, provides plenty of cover for shade loving creatures. Every meandering pathway leads to an interesting vista of colour and texture in the different areas of the garden. A variety of plants grown in the garden are available to purchase in the garden nursery.
