Synopsis
Hillandale is located in the Central West Tablelands of New South Wales. Established in 1874, this cool temperate garden has a dam, a spring fed creek, a wind break of mature local and exotic trees, large swathes of herbaceous perennial border gardens and a traditional style glasshouse that houses a collection of frost tender plants, succulents, cactus and pelargoniums. The garden has a collection of over 300 rare and unusual plants, including salvias, lupins and ornamental grasses. The garden has a surprising naturalistic look as a rule once planted the plants are left to do their own thing. It is also a nursery and is a popular venue for romantic country weddings.
