Hergest Croft Gardens

Magnificent trees lend great distinction to a landscape, and the gardens at Hergest Croft have more than most, with some of the maturest close to the Arts and Crafts house, whilst a deep valley is filled with towering rhododendrons and exotic specimens.

'Many of these plants were brought back from China during the early 1900s by the plant hunter Ernest Wilson, creating a scene more reminiscent of the Himalayas than the Welsh Marches,' says Lawrence Banks, the fourth generation of the Banks family responsible for the 70-acre garden and arboretum.
