Synopsis
Usage of plants which can stand hot and dry conditions such as Bergenia,Yucca, Sedum, Stipa, Achillea, Perovskia, Cotinus and Pyrus salicifolia. The garden was built on a circular deep valley which was perfect for creating a micro climate. The site has been a clay pit in former times so it took a lot of time and hard work to break up the heavy soil by using sand and gritting material. The atmosphere is Mediterranean and the garden is a heaven for insects , bumble bees and lizards.
