Synopsis
This is a corner plot enclosed by hedges of beech and hawthorn. John and Brenda Foster are Galanthophiles, growing and selling many rare varieties of snowdrops. At the beginning of the year at Gable House the snowdrops appear amongst drifts of winter aconites, cyclamen and clumps of unusual hellebores. The garden is balmy with the scent of Winter Honeysuckle, Wintersweet and Daphne odora that are dotted round and about. It is a riot of colour at the end of winter/early spring and it is impressive to see how many bulbs they have crammed into one acre. John and Brenda Foster open their garden for the NGS in February and June.
