Synopsis
French garden designer Maïtanne Hunt started the work on the garden in March/April 2019. She decided to split the large space of the terrace in 2 ‘zones’. The first part of the terrace acts as a very spacious and welcoming entrance for the visitor, matching the grand architecture of the house which is a fine example of the elegant white stucco architecture surrounding Regent’s Park, built by John Nash in the 1820s. Maïtanne planted 4 large Camelia Sasanqua “Cleopatra’ which are in full bloom from October to January. They are underplanted throughout the year with seasonal flowers and make a powerful statement. The second area is smaller and offers the privacy the client requested; it is now a comfortable seating area where they can relax, have drinks and enjoy the garden. It is divided from the first zone by a hedge of Choysia ‘Apple Blossom’ which provides delicate evergreen foliage in Autumn and Winter and, in the early spring and late summer, white scented flowers. The designer installed a ‘green wall’ in the lightwell/internal courtyard of the house.
