A front garden may not seem like the obvious choice in which to create a secluded retreat, yet this young family have transformed a neglected, exposed space on a suburban street into a private oasis that belies its inauspicious beginnings. Hidden in plain sight, this colourful, private sitting area reflects both the modern style and the personality of the young family who call this home. Transformed from a dreary rental property where random, overgrown shrubs engulfed the house and made the front garden unusable, it is now a perfect spot for bedtime stories or an evening glass of wine. A place to take a Zoom call or chat with neighbours; inviting yet secluded thanks to the filtered view crafted by layering evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs, while the family's young daughter, enjoys the easy tricycle paths and fun treasures waiting for her to discover.
