Synopsis
They grow acres of larkspur, Delphinium consolida, in shades of dark, bright and pale pinks and blue together with ivory white. The colourful fields, sometimes sown in the shape of a Union Jack flag to denote grown in Britain, are ready for harvesting at the end of June/ beginning July depending on the season. The flower fields are open to the public for one glorious week. Long wands of larkspur are harvested and visitors can buy bouquets or huge bunches of the beautiful blooms. Then serious harvesting begins, all the stems are hand-picked and then dried before the petals are removed to make natural flower confetti.
