Synopsis
When Gera de Wet and her husband Johann moved to De Wetshof, a celebrated Western Cape wine estate that has been in Johann's family since 1954 not one vineyard was visible from the terrace. The garden was overgrown and had no structure. While the task of redesigning the sprawling grounds seemed daunting at first, Gera broke down the process into achievable goals. The result is a design that illustrates her admiration for both formal Italian and English country gardens.
