Synopsis
This impressive private cottage and small garden with loads of rustic charm is as well kept as the grounds of Abbots Ripton Hall where Gavin is the head gardener. He even labels all his plants as meticulously in his own garden as he does next door at work. After a hard days graft Gavin can't think of anything better that getting stuck into his own cottage garden, he even makes his own slate name tags as the shop could not provide exactly what he wanted.
A local, Gavin has been here for 25 years, the garden was a mess and he transformed it into an oasis. He wanted a traditional garden with a country cottage feel, so there are colourful borders which look beautiful in June. Most of the plants are left overs from the Hall or he cultivates his findings and then gives them back to the Hall garden, so there is a great connection between both gardens. He really is garden mad, it's his life. His partner helps by collecting all the rustic gems found around the garden.
