Surrounding the detached sandstone house, built in 1895, the soil is a mixture of acid and alkaline which allows the gardener great scope for a mixture of different plants and shrubs. An organic vegetable plot nestles in between a huge area of aquilegia and raspberries. The orchard has been carpeted with geraniums; wild life is encouraged by several bird and bee boxes. Sage, thyme and lavender in the herb garden add a sensory aspect to the garden and the colour themed borders give immediate visual appeal. One-acre naturally planted artists' garden. The S-facing aspect is a delightful blend of herbaceous borders, secret areas, and a geranium carpeted orchard. Sculptures hidden amongst the foliage reflect the quirky and different style, which the present owner has brought to this garden Follow the gravelled paths, under hazel archways into the vegetable plot. Wander to the bottom of the garden past the large herbaceous border under the shade of the mature cherry trees, where hostas and ferns line the pathway. The s-facing sloping aspect of this garden has open and long reaching views of the surrounding Derbyshire countryside. A delightful blend of flowers, fruit and veg.
