Synopsis
Mathew and Louise are architect and artist respectively and have collaborated on the design and build of the garden since 1995 inspired by classic English gardens such as Sissinghurst and Hidcote. The garden includes exceptional features such as a bridge, wisteria pergola, fountain garden and many sculptures such as John Aulman's yew wood angel and a gleaming, galvanised metal horse. Recently constructed elements include cast concrete steps inset with slate on the back of the house which also serve as tiered seating around the barbecue. In early spring it stirs into life with creamy tulips, luminous primroses and the sense of riches to come.
