Synopsis
The garden around Bourton House in the Cotswolds features an intricate knot garden, an elegant parterre and a succession of garden rooms that unfold around the striking eighteenth century Queen Anne house. During late summer the garden bursts with colour and exuberance as herbaceous perennials and a myriad of tender perennials and annuals flower amongst big foliage plants, and intricately planted containers add interest and detail around the splendid house. The garden is a great balance between restrained formality and lush planting, showing the best of the English garden style and all maintained to the highest standard. It is open to the public from April to October.
