Synopsis
A contemporary classic of 3 acres created since 1983, designed by Monique and Richard Paice who moved some years ago, leaving the garden under the care of Roelof and Cheryl Quintus, and a skilled garden team headed by Jacky Rae. The garden around Bourton House in the Cotswolds features an intricate knot garden, an elegant parterre and a succession of garden rooms unfolds around the striking eighteenth century Queen Anne house. During winter the garden is pared back to its essentials, clipped box and yew, mophead laurels, trained pyracantha and ivy, and pencil cypresses. The garden is a great balance between formality and exuberance, showing the best of the English garden style and all maintained to the highest standard. It is open to the public from April to October.
