Creating a wonderful garden from scratch is no mean feat, especially when faced with heavy wet clay, nettles, rabbits and a lack of both time and money, but Claire and Chris Farthing make an impressive team.

Synopsis
'Chris loves the garden as much as I do, and has done a lot of the manual work, but he leaves all the planning to me. I come up with ideas, and he makes them happen. He's a real gem,' says Claire from their four-bedroom 1980s home in the village of Rougham, Suffolk. Today, the original rear plot and neighbouring field is transformed into a two-acre family garden and woodland enjoyed by the couple, both in their early fifties, and their 18-year-old daughter, Danielle who mows the grass, and is training Ozzy, a young Finnish lapphund, to keep off the flower beds.
