Synopsis
A romantic garden full of inventive and playful topiary and found, recycled and repurposed objects amongst densely planted borders. In April the garden gate is framed by spreading Prunus 'Tai-haku', the great white cherry, appropriate as the cottage was the gardener's house for The Grange, Collingwood Ingram's home next door. Ingram reintroduced the great white cherry to Japan. The garden was developed slowly from a neglected kitchen garden and Donald and Charlotte grew most of the evergreens from cuttings. Now mostly fully grown there are spirals, spheres, pyramids, dogs, peacocks, wedding cakes and geometric shapes too. A garden that looks beautiful all year, and sparkles in spring with wildflowers and blossom amongst the striking shapes.
