Synopsis
Askham Hall in the eastern Lake District dates back to the 13th century and sits in 40 acres of farmland and 12 acres of garden complete with topiary, lush borders and a busy kitchen garden that supplies the renowned restaurant. In June the old stone terraces froth with multi-coloured planting including lime green Alchemilla mollis, white Crambe cordifolia, dusky purple geraniums and vibrant pink foxgloves while the kitchen garden bursts with produce including many pots of micro-greens and masses of herbs. An English country garden with bags of atmosphere.
