Synopsis
It is a romantic garden with garden rooms, lots of secret places and ponds. Furthermore, there is also tightly clipped boxwood, an orchard and vegetable garden where Annemie grow healthy and fresh vegetables. She also like to work with annuals to fill all the pots and every year to create new plants and colour combinations. The pruning is done by her husband Ronny; otherwise garden work is done by herself. Annemie started with a herb garden, 25 years ago. Then followed a vegetable garden and orchard, further there was just grass. Then she started to replace the grass with flower beds, seating areas, ponds and paving. The garden has grown steadily and each year she changed something. In winter is spent drawing the full plan and looking through plant books. The passion for everything that grows and thrives has there has always been and perennials interested her the most. With much trial and error she has finally created a garden. The garden is never finished, it's like a painting where you can continue to work on further. Her favourite plant is the rose, in all its varieties. Thick stuffed roses, single roses to spray roses, preferably in soft colours. The smell is very important. The rose is not the easiest plant, but when it blooms it is wonderful! Every autumn her roses have a winter cover of horse manure, which is also very important as a fertiliser. In early spring she treat roses preventively against rose diseases simultaneously to keep them healthy and in good shape.
