Synopsis
Penny allowed nothing to obscure the sight of the water meadows leading down to the River Test. 'We wanted to see the view in all directions, so kept the farm fences which, being low wooden posts and wire, cause minimal obstruction,' explains Penny. They also planned the garden around existing native trees - ashes, birches, willows, elders, hazels and hawthorns - to ensure the garden flows seamlessly into the natural landscape. 'And blends in when seen from the meadows,' she adds.
