This garden is filled with magnificent, larger-than-life borders designed by Alasdair Cameron, a feat that is all the greater because this is above all a relaxed family garden in which his three children have free rein.

Synopsis
It is a decade since Alasdair and Tor Cameron moved to Silver Street Farm which, at the time, was a working dairy farm secreted off a hushed Devon lane. "There was no garden to speak of, just a farmyard and paddocks, but I knew it was somewhere I could garden and experiment with plants" recalls Alasdair. The 300-year-old farmhouse and barns are set in the heart of an agricultural landscape, a patchwork of grazing and ploughed fields delineated by meandering hedgerows and small spinneys. "It was paramount that any garden should meld seamlessly with the rural landscape, borrowing and framing views to enhance the atmosphere," he adds.
