Synopsis
Nature meets art in this deceptively simple southern-Highland cottage garden, where an ordinary gate and even the garden shed are elevated by clever use of colour. There’s a small vegetable patch that is as decorative as it is productive and borders that in summer are filled with flowers. A palette of soft tones, enlivened by bright splashes of colour, have been used to create a garden that sits harmoniously amidst a dramatic landscape (on the shores of Loch Long and the Clyde Estuary) and which gives artist (co-owner) Freda Waldapfel inspiration for her work.
