Synopsis
Mature trees form the boundaries ensuring privacy. A circular lawn captures sun throughout the day whereas the rest of the garden is partially shaded. Winding gravel paths take you past rockery areas, alpine troughs, a pond, summerhouse and there are numerous interesting artefacts placed around the garden…even an old army ambulance which is used as a shed! There is a mix of formality, with clipped topiary, and informality, and a lovely subtle use of colour. A wide range of shade planting and foliage can be seen in the woodland and herbaceous beds. The garden comes into its own in Spring with flowering bulbs bringing a splash of colour. Peter and Sarah open their garden for the National Gardening Scheme and as part of the local Didsbury Open Gardens each year. They are both passionate about wildlife and do everything to encourage it into the garden.
