Sue Milward’s 2 acre country garden has been cleverly divided to create distinct areas and has much to inspire owners of smaller gardens. Her speciality is beautifully planted containers of all shapes and sizes, full of colourful late flowering plants. Oak barrels are a particular feature, cleverly layered with Abutilon, Brugmansia, Plectranthus and Fuschia. A small raised formal topiary garden using green and variegated Box greets the visitor, while the pot garden overflows with many tender treasures which overwinter in the Victorian Vinery glasshouse. A neat, productive potager with a Wisteria tunnel that later on plays host to ornamental gourds,is where Sue grows veg for the family, and tucked behind is a tiny cutting garden.
