This lovely town garden was transformed from a typical narrow London plot,
into an interesting space, which glows in Spring with the many different
tulips that owner Judith Strong plants. An unusual Octagon shaped lawn was
the key to re-shaping the garden, which is punctuated at each of its eight
corners with a box ball in a terracotta pot.Judith, a self-confessed
plantaholic, says 'I'd rather buy tulips than a cashmere sweater' and
describes shopping for plants as HRT - Horticultural Retail Therapy!
The key to this gardens success however, is the strong underlying structure,
with keys shrubs such as Ceanothus, Buddleia alternifolia, Solanum
'Glasnevin' and the early flowering Canary Bird Rose to name a few.On the
patio, painted a vivid Mediterranean blue, pots overflow with tulips, Violas
and Primulas.
